With the execution of a British citizen today, China has proven to me yet again that I will be quite happy living out my life without having visited the barbaric country. True, I am not a "drug-trafficker" but the family of said British citizen claimed he was bi-polar and that such a condition should have been taken into consideration. I, for one, agree with this. Yet China decided that it did not have enough evidence to prove the claim. How convenient for them. Of course, they've never been accused of respecting human rights now, have they?
Didyaknow that apparently even tax evasion can result in execution in China? WTF? Can you imagine how much that would reduce the U.S. population? YIKES. However, I feel quite certain that I do not wish to see our country step back into the dark ages, thankyouverymuch.
I do not usually write on political subjects, but this one sickened me. I will now step off my very-short soapbox and resume your regularly scheduled starrling silliness.
